This week the students will be reading a historical fiction selection entitled, Goin' Someplace Special.
This story reflects the struggles and discrimination faced by African Americans during the Civil Rights Movement. Students will focus on the setting and the characters as they read to determine the relationship between the characters and how the setting influences events in the story.
