Nodules!

Below you see a picture of nodules on the roots of a soybean plant.  These are little pods filled with bacteria. The bacteria "fixes" nitrogen gas so that the plant can turn it into protein.  We then eat the soybean and the nitrogen/protein is passed onto us!!

Thanks to Sebastian, Carson, Jack, Audrey, Maggie, Justin, and Liam for bringing in soybean plants to share with their classes.  All of these kids got bonus points!
