SS Week of Jan. 6

This week we will begin Ch. 4 from History Alive and learn about the motivations of European explorers to explore North and South America.  This is a short chapter so expect a test next week on the material!

There is no homework this week.

Graven LA Week of Jan. 6

I hope you enjoyed your time off for winter break, including the 2 bonus days on Monday and Tuesday!  I can't wait to hear about all the fun things you did, which hopefully includes a great book.  I read a few over the break too! :)  On Wednesday I will reward the top 5 Study Island blue ribbon earners.  There's a reward for completing all of the blue ribbons in language arts too!

Since this week is now a short week, we'll complete our winter reading assessments this week and continue some work with reading skills.  The only homework this week is to have book contract #1 for the 3rd quarter due on FRIDAY and the Study Island topic due for FRIDAY (Instructions and Procedures).  Remember, you have a new lexile level (you took the SRI test at school before break) and you need to read 2 books in this level (can go 100 points below and above your lexile level) to take 2 Reading Counts quizzes during the 3rd quarter.  Next week we will get into Unit 3, Week 2 of Treasures.
