Students continue to read the class novel Tuck Everlasting. We will read Chapters 14- 20 this week. Students will complete review questions in their small reading groups. Later in the week, reading groups will be assigned one of this weeks chapters to act out in a skit.
Our grammar focus this week is verbs and action verbs. Students can expect a skills test reviewing verbs on Friday.
This is a new nine weeks. Students are expected to again read two reading books of their choice. The books must be in their Lexile level and completed prior to the end of this grading period. Students have all completed a reading contract for the first book which will be due by Thursday, Feb 6th. Please encourage your child to read 30 minutes every night. All students recently took their Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI). Ask your child if he or she increased his or her Lexile (reading book level).
